Inks Lake is back at a normal level with stained water (2–3 ft visibility) and water temperatures around 60°. The lake has just filled back up after the recent drawdown period, which has the water a bit cooler and off-colored. Even so, the bass have been willing to bite.
With most of the aquatic vegetation now gone, fish are relating heavily to shallow cover and structure. The most consistent action has come from fishing Texas-rigged Senkos and finesse jigs around main-lake docks and other shallow targets in less than 10 feet of water. Focus on visible structure and you should be able to connect with some solid fish.
