The Site: A few years ago it became very clear to me that I needed to start some type of website that was dedicated to my competitive bass fishing endeavors. Status updates on Facebook just weren’t cutting it anymore as more and more of my friends and family began asking me for more detailed accounts of how I was doing in my tournament fishing here in Texas. Well, that’s what got this site started. Since then, I have also become involved in guiding on several of the lakes here in the Austin area, so my website has evolved a bit to help promote my guiding business as well. On my site, I try to keep everyone up to date on how things are going with pursuing a potential future career in professional bass fishing as well as updates and stories on my services as a guide. You’ll also get an inside look at what I do to prepare for each of my tournaments as well as how successful I am in each of them.
Guide Services: Please visit the “Guided Fishing Trips” page of my website for details.
My Background: Let’s just say I’ve been obsessed with fishing my whole life—and “obsessed” might actually be an understatement. I caught my first fish at the age of three, and from then on, fishing has been the main thing on my mind. In fact, all through elementary school my nickname was “Fish Boy.”
Up until I was about 13, I fished for anything that would bite. But once the bass fishing bug bit me, I was hooked for good. I grew up watching tournaments on TV, and when I finally started applying what I had learned, everything changed. I fished my first tournament at 14, earned my first sponsorship at 15, and by 19 had several wins and top finishes under my belt. Looking back, I thought I was pretty skilled for my age—but guiding has taught me there’s always more to learn, and that’s part of what keeps me passionate to this day.
At 19, I stepped away from tournaments for two years to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was the only time in my life I truly set the rods down, but that experience shaped me in other ways. It strengthened my discipline, patience, and love of teaching—all qualities I now use every day as a fishing guide.
After returning home, I married a good friend from high school, and in 2008 we moved to Central Texas—the heart of bass fishing country. For the past 17 years, I’ve made these waters my home, studying the patterns, seasons, and techniques that make Texas lakes so special. I’ve guided hundreds of clients since then, from first-timers learning how to cast to experienced anglers chasing their next personal best. Nothing makes me happier than helping someone achieve their fishing goals and create lasting memories on the water.
Along the way, I’ve had some unique experiences too—I spent 10 years teaching breakdancing. I may not do much of it now, but that chapter of my life taught me how to connect with people, keep energy high, and make learning fun. Those same skills come with me on every trip.
Today, my focus is simple: sharing my passion for bass fishing with others. Whether you’re looking to learn new techniques, explore a Central Texas lake, or just have a fun day on the water, my goal is to make sure you walk away with a memorable experience and maybe even a fish story worth bragging about.
