This has been both an incredibly frustrating and incredibly rewarding summer on Lake Austin. One trip I’ll go out, find a big school of bass, and start putting a beating on ’em. The very next day, I’ll go out only to find that the school had moved, and I’ll catch 1 or 2 keepers and that’s it. That can be incredibly frustrating when the previous trip you put a dozen or more keepers in the boat. In last week’s TTZ Wednesday Nighter, I fished with John Ward (aka: austinjohn), and finished in the money in 3rd place after we had put some good fish in the boat on a spot that John had shown me. Can’t Seem to Get Away From Dead Bodies on Lake Austin
It’s been an interesting few months this summer. Once school let out for the summer, I spent the first month just relaxing not really doing much but working and fishing. It was nice, but since then I’ve had a really hard time settling into any kind of groove or routine in my life. Hence the lack of activity on both my website and Facebook fan page. In the summer, we typically see a drop in tournament activity with the exception of small club tournaments and short weeknight tournaments. I’ve fished a few here and there, but haven’t taken them very seriously. [Read more…]
What the heck happened???
Where’d my momentum go? I’ll tell you where it went. Life has gotten in the way, and sucked away the momentum with it. School has been really rough this semester. Every semester it gets harder and harder to focus on school, and not only that… but my classes become increasingly difficult the further I make it in college. It’s a double-edged sword. Fishing has unfortunately come up low on the totem pole of priorities. Let’s get caught up on what’s happened since my last post:

The Unstoppable Rebel Force
The Unstoppable Rebel Force… that’s the name my friend, Will, and I came up with for ourselves back in high school. Will and I pretty much thought we were God’s gift to women. We felt like we could pretty much get any girl we wanted. We were so enamored with ourselves and our “skills” that we even began writing a book. Ya, we were pretty dumb. Ha! Looking back at it now, I realize we were just a couple of cocky kids who still had a lot to learn. Occasionally though, I still have times in my life when I feel a little bit like an Unstoppable Rebel Force. [Read more…]
Momentum, Baby.
Well I’m keeping the momentum rolling, and it’s picking up speed! Before I get into the details about my win this past weekend at the Media Bass tournament on Lake Austin, let’s get caught up to speed on other tournaments I’ve fished since the last blog post and the momentum that’s been building.
Media Bass – Lake LBJ – 19 Jan 2013: 4th place finish in the money. This was a good one that I followed up the Big Sandy club tournament with. Pre-fishing went great as I established a solid pattern with a few good areas. [Read more…]
