Inks has been a little slow, but the fish we’re catching are solid quality. Water is normal with 2–4 ft of visibility, and temps are in the low to mid 80s.
The early morning bite might have a slight edge, but there’s no clear best time or depth. We’ve caught fish from less than 2 ft out to 15 ft. It’s been junk fishing — hitting spots that look good and adjusting as we go.
Best baits? Still figuring that out. But frogs around shallow vegetation, big Texas-rigged worms in deeper cover, and paddletail swimbaits or glide baits for covering water have all produced a few.
