I’ve decided to include some new pages on the website that have information about each lake that I offer guided trips on.  The pages will feature general information about the lake, some photos of the lakes, and some general fishing tips for the lake.  These pages can either be accessed from the page detailing my guided services where I list the lakes I guide at or they can be accessed from the fishing reports page.  Basically, anywhere on the site that you see a the name of a lake, I’m going to try to create a link to that lake’s information page.  So far I have Lake Travis and Lake Austin.  These pages are designed to help drive traffic to the website for people who are looking for fishing information specific to that lake or people who are looking for a bass fishing guide on one of those lakes.

Well, it seems like my last blog post has generated quite a bit of interest and discussion.  For some guys, the ideas in that post are certainly nothing new, but for others, it was pretty eye-opening.  Last night I actually had the idea to perhaps make an illustration or two to show the idea behind what I was describing with my casting accuracy scenario, so I went ahead and threw one together this morning.  Now obviously, there are way more factors that go into something like this in a real life situation, and there are obviously problems with this scenario… [Read more…]

There are a lot of misconceptions in bass fishing.  I see guys “barking up the wrong tree” pretty often, and have done it a number of times myself through out my time in this sport.  I’d think a little too highly of myself if I were to say that it doesn’t still happen on occasion.  As a full-time guide, one of the biggest areas that I see guys barking up the wrong tree with often, is in understanding why they aren’t catching as many fish as other guys seem to. Just a quick note.  I’ve got a few new videos up on the website here.  The main one being a video I put together all about catching fish on a hollow-bodied frog.  Watch this video, and I promise it will increase your ability to be able to put more fish in the boat with these lures.  There’s also some sweet bass hammerin’ action starting at the 10 minute mark of actually catching some fish on a frog.  Just go to the Videos page to check it out.  You can find it under the “Bass Fishing Advanced” section.
