I often get single passengers looking to possibly split a trip with another angler, but they don’t have a friend or relative already in mind that they would like to split the trip with. If you are interested in splitting a trip with another angler, please either e-mail (andermeine@gmail.com) or text me (435-313-1838) with your first and last name and e-mail address. I will add you to my single passenger mailing list. When an angler has a specific date or dates he is considering taking a trip, I will send a message out to the rest of the mailing list to let them know. Participants can then e-mail me back if they are also interested in splitting the trip.
***A WORD OF CAUTION*** There are pros and cons to splitting a trip with another angler that you are not already familiar with. I have seen these trips go very well, and I have seen them not work out very well for one or both anglers. Obviously, the biggest benefit for both anglers is reducing their individual cost for the trip. The most common negative I’ve seen with these trips is that one angler may end up dominating the trip. One angler ends up demanding my attention more than the other, whether it is due to their skill level, an overbearing personality, or otherwise. As a result, the other angler may not learn as much or may not have as much success. There is also the obvious potential negative of spending the day in a boat with someone you may not find to be super pleasant, to put it nicely. Splitting a trip with someone you may not know works well for some, but certainly not all. It’s always recommended that you split a trip with someone you are familiar with or that you simply come out on a trip by yourself in order to have the best experience possible.
OTHER SOURCES FOR FINDING AN ANGLER TO SPLIT WITH: Another good idea for finding an angler to split a trip with is to post a message on either austinbassfishing.com or texasfishingforum.com . On Facebook, you can join the group called “The Original Keep Austin Fishing! TM” and post a message as well.
