10/29/2025 – Lake Austin is sitting at a normal level with clear 4–6 ft visibility and surface temps in the upper 60s. The fishing has been very up and down lately—pretty typical for the fall season. We caught them well one day on topwater hollow-bodied frogs, only to have them completely ignore the same bait the next. Staying flexible with lures and presentations is key right now.
The most consistent bite recently has come from drop-shot rigged finesse worms fished on the outside deeper edge of submerged grasslines in 15–20 feet of water. Focus on clean edges of vegetation, adjust your presentations with changing weather, and you can still find quality fish.
