Bass are showing up on 45\u00b0 sloping shorelines with a mix of rock, brush, and docks. Most bites are coming in less than 12 ft of water. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms in green shades have been the most consistent producer, while a finesse jig with a chunk trailer has drawn strikes from some of the better fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lot of bass right now are feeding on small bluegill \u2014 many of the fish we caught were regurgitating them, and schools of small bluegill are thick around shallow brush. The overall bite is a little slow for keeper-sized fish, though plenty of smaller bass are willing to bite with the occasional solid keeper mixed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
