Inks Lake is sitting at a normal level with stained water and 2\u20134 ft visibility. Water temperatures are around 60\u00b0, and the colder, overcast days have been producing the best overall results. With the recent drawdown behind us, the lake is still settling into its winter patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two primary patterns working right now, both centered around drop-shot rigged finesse worms<\/strong> and crankbaits<\/strong>. The first involves targeting the small amount of remaining submerged aquatic vegetation in 8\u201311 feet of water<\/strong>. Most of the grass died off during the drawdown, and what\u2019s left is very sparse and difficult to locate, often only showing up for experienced sonar users. The second pattern is fishing shallow hard cover and structure in creek arms<\/strong>, where both a drop-shot rig<\/strong> and a squarebill crankbait<\/strong> have been producing consistent bites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
