Well, as usual, school has had me tied up pretty good the last few weeks. About a month ago, I became ill with a sinus infection and was pretty miserable for about a week. As a result, I missed a bunch of school (and exams!) and spent the next two weeks playing catch up. If you are reading this right now, odds are you’ve already heard about the win that my partner, David Bueche, and I recently received at the Faith Angler Network Championship tournament this past weekend. Most everyone that may actually read this blog is either a friend or family member, so I’ve probably already told you. 🙂   Well, the prize money may not have been a huge amount (although certainly not a minuscule amount either), but the most important part of this win for me (and I’d be willing to bet David as well) was just the fact that we were finally able to put together a win in a fairly significant tournament. I’ve been putting my shoulder to the wheel the last few weeks!  It’s been a long time in the making, but I’ve FINALLY put myself in a good spot to try and start being serious about seeking sponsorships to help advance my fishing career.  Most everyone in this industry trying to make it as a professional angler eventually realizes that it’s nearly impossible without the support of great sponsors.  I’ve put a lot of work into building my reputation and getting my stuff together in order for companies to take me seriously when I approach them about sponsorships.   [Read more…]

Whew!  What a crazy couple of months!  I don’t know how the guys that fish tournaments nearly every weekend do it.  Trying to fish two trails this year was busy enough for me.  This year’s regular tournament season has come to a close with only the championships remaining to be fished in the fall.  So how’d things end up?  I guess it depends on how you look at it.  Things got a little depressing more often than I would’ve liked it to at each tournament with not as many high tournament finishes as I was envisioning at the beginning of the season.  However, when you look at the overall picture, things seemed to work out in the end.   [Read more…]

Well, I’ve been wanting to post a blog update after each tournament, but that’s proving to be near impossible!  Balancing school, work, and competitive fishing is no easy task, but I’m up for the challenge.  I’ve been doing a good job of keeping the Facebook fan page ( facebook.com/andermeine ) going strong, but the website here has been getting neglected a bit.  Here’s a quick run down of all the tournaments I’ve fished so far this year
