Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – October 4, 2025

This one was a grind. We had a tough day on Lady Bird Lake, and there wasn’t much solid information to take away. Sometimes that’s just how it goes! 😂

Lake conditions were typical for early October — normal level, around 2–3 ft visibility with a tannic tint, and warm fall temps under bright skies.

Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – June 16, 2025

Recent rains have muddied up parts of Lady Bird Lake and slowed the bite a bit, especially in the lower section. That said, heading farther upriver where the water clears up can make a big difference. The bite has been most consistent around heavy cover and shaded areas.

We’re catching fish by skipping finesse jigs under trees and docks, and punching matted vegetation with Texas-rigged creature baits like the Bass Pro Shops River Bug. The River2Sea Phat Mat Daddy frog is a great choice for explosive topwater blowups around matted vegetation and in shady areas.

Lake Travis Fishing Report – September 24, 2025

Lake Travis is sitting about 9 feet low, with 4–6 ft visibility and a tannic tint to the water. Temps are in the low 80s, with sunny, calm conditions.

Bass are showing up on 45° sloping shorelines with a mix of rock, brush, and docks. Most bites are coming in less than 15 ft of water. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms have been the most consistent producer, but weightless soft plastic jerkbaits are also producing early in the mornings before that bite fades after the first couple of hours.

Many bass are feeding on small bluegill — schools of them are thick around shallow brush. The overall bite is a little slow for keeper-sized largemouth, though smaller bass are abundant with the occasional solid keeper mixed in. Guadalupe Bass are also particularly active right now, offering some fun bonus catches.

Stillhouse Hollow Fishing Report – September 27, 2025

Stillhouse is sitting at full pool with stained water in the 2–4 ft visibility range, depending on location. Days have been bright, sunny, and hot, while mornings have started out cool.

The larger bass are coming from submerged vegetation in 12–20 ft of water, with drop-shot rigged finesse worms being the top producer. For better numbers, we’ve been targeting nomadic schools of open-water bass chasing shad. Small weightless soft jerkbaits and swimbaits have been effective, but forward-facing sonar has been essential for staying on these roaming fish.

Lake Travis is sitting about 9 feet low, with 4–6 ft visibility and a tannic tint to the water. Temps are in the low 80s, with sunny, calm conditions.

Bass are showing up on 45° sloping shorelines with a mix of rock, brush, and docks. Most bites are coming in less than 12 ft of water. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms in green shades have been the most consistent producer, while a finesse jig with a chunk trailer has drawn strikes from some of the better fish.

A lot of bass right now are feeding on small bluegill — many of the fish we caught were regurgitating them, and schools of small bluegill are thick around shallow brush. The overall bite is a little slow for keeper-sized fish, though plenty of smaller bass are willing to bite with the occasional solid keeper mixed in.
