Bass are relating to submerged vegetation in 5–12 feet of water, with the most productive areas being those influenced by fresh runoff entering the lake.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent action around the submerged grass. Focusing on vegetation near incoming runoff has been the key to locating active fish, as these areas continue to provide favorable water conditions and concentrate baitfish. Overall, the fishing has been good.

Summer patterns are firmly established, with some of the best fishing coming from nomadic schools of bass roaming open water and chasing schools of shad.

Weightless soft plastic jerkbaits have been producing well when targeting these roaming fish, with forward-facing sonar playing a key role in locating and staying with the schools. Depth is less important with this pattern, as the bass are relating to baitfish rather than bottom cover or structure. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms fished through submerged vegetation are also producing consistent bites. Overall, the fishing has been good.

Summer patterns are now fully established, with some of the best fishing coming from targeting large, nomadic schools of bass that are actively following schools of shad in open water.

Mid-strolling minnow-style soft plastics and suspending jerkbaits have been producing the most consistent action. These fish are not relating to bottom cover or structure, making depth largely irrelevant as they roam the lake following baitfish. Forward-facing sonar has become an essential tool for locating and staying with these massive schools. Overall, the fishing has been good, with anglers finding opportunities to catch multiple bass once an active school is located.

Depending on location, anglers can expect anywhere from roughly 3 to 6 feet of visibility. Bass are holding around submerged vegetation in 4–10 feet of water, with many fish continuing to group up in productive areas.

Neko-rigged creature baits and drop-shot rigged finesse worms have been producing the most consistent action when worked through submerged vegetation. While some fish have begun transitioning toward more offshore summer locations, plenty of bass remain associated with shallow grass and continue to provide steady action. Recent rains have created some variability in water conditions throughout the system, making it worthwhile to keep moving until cleaner water and active fish are located. Overall, the fishing has remained good, with anglers finding success by focusing on vegetation-rich areas that continue to attract both baitfish and bass.

Lady Bird Lake is at a normal level with clear water offering roughly 4+ feet of visibility and water temperatures around 74 degrees. Bass are primarily in a post-spawn phase, but the relatively cool start to the summer has kept many fish from fully transitioning into traditional summer patterns. Most productive areas have been shallow flats with submerged vegetation in less than 10 feet of water, where bass continue to group up and feed actively.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent action when worked through these shallow grass areas. An early morning shad spawn bite has also been highly productive, while areas holding spawning sunfish have continued to attract quality bass throughout the day. Overall, the fishing has been really good, with fish still remaining surprisingly shallow for this time of year.
