Lake Austin Fishing Report – October 12, 2025

Lake Austin is sitting at a normal level with clear water in the 4–6 ft visibility range and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.

We’ve been catching bass both in open water and around vegetation. Three-inch paddle tail swimbaits like the Bass Pro Shops Speed Shad have been producing when fished over submerged grass, and mid-strolling minnow-style plastics have worked well for targeting suspended bass with forward-facing sonar. For a shallow bite, weightless soft plastic stick worms around inside grasslines have been consistent.

Lake Austin Fishing Report – October 2, 2025

Lake Austin is at normal level with 3–4 ft visibility. Water temperatures are in the low 80s under bright, sunny skies with calm conditions.

The most consistent bite has been targeting submerged vegetation in 12+ ft of water with drop-shot rigged finesse worms and light Texas-rigged stick worms. For anglers chasing bigger bites, skipping a hollow-body frog under overhanging cypress trees near shallow inside grasslines can produce quality fish — though those bites are fewer and further between.

The early morning hours continue to be the best window for action.

Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – October 4, 2025

This one was a grind. We had a tough day on Lady Bird Lake, and there wasn’t much solid information to take away. Sometimes that’s just how it goes! 😂

Lake conditions were typical for early October — normal level, around 2–3 ft visibility with a tannic tint, and warm fall temps under bright skies.

Stillhouse Hollow Fishing Report – September 13, 2025

Stillhouse is holding steady at full pool with stained water (2–4 ft visibility) and temps in the low 80s. The most consistent action has been around submerged vegetation in 15–20 feet.

Drop-shot finesse worms are producing well along the deeper grass edges, while glide baits fished over the top of the vegetation are drawing some quality bites. This has been a reliable way to find numbers, and there are definitely some big ones showing up on this pattern right now.
