Lake Waco Fishing Report – Wind-Blown Rock Producing Summer Bass (July 25, 2026)

Lake Waco is offering stained water with roughly 2–3 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 83 degrees, and a water level at normal pool. Bass are relating to wind-blown rock in 5–12 feet of water, with the best activity occurring where wind is pushing baitfish onto productive structure.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent bites, while topwater lures have generated some quality fish during low-light periods. Although the bite has been somewhat inconsistent, anglers targeting wind-blown rock with a patient approach are still putting together respectable catches. Overall, the fishing has been fair.

Inks Lake Fishing Report – Wind-Blown Shallow Cover & Topwater Bite (July 25, 2026)

Inks Lake is offering stained water with roughly 2–4 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 81 degrees, and a water level at normal pool. Bass are relating to shallow cover throughout the lake, including rock, wood, docks, and other available structure, with wind-blown areas continuing to produce the most consistent action.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent bites in less than 5 feet of water. Topwater lures have also been generating quality fish during the first hour of daylight and again late in the evening. Overall, the fishing has remained good, with the best success coming from targeting shallow, wind-blown cover.

Lake Austin Fishing Report – Summer Schools Forming Around Grass (June 15, 2026)

Lake Austin is offering highly variable conditions, with water temperatures ranging from the upper 60s on the upper end of the lake to the lower 80s farther downstream. Water clarity also varies considerably due to recent rains, with visibility ranging anywhere from roughly 2 to 6 feet depending on location. Despite the changing conditions, the fishing has remained good.

Bass are beginning to settle into summer patterns and are increasingly grouping into schools around submerged vegetation in 5–15 feet of water. Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent action, while topwater stick baits have been effective for targeting active fish feeding higher in the water column. As always on Lake Austin, covering water and locating productive stretches of vegetation has been key to finding concentrations of bass.

Lake LBJ Fishing Report – Post-Spawn Bass on Wind-Blown Vegetation & Early Topwater Bite (May 2, 2026)

Lake LBJ is at a normal level with stained water offering roughly 2–4 feet of visibility and water temperatures around 70 degrees. Bass are positioned shallow to mid-depth, generally in 3–10 feet of water, and are relating to submerged vegetation as well as wind-blown areas. Most fish appear to be in a post-spawn phase, and wind has been a key factor in positioning bass, often grouping them up in specific areas as they follow baitfish.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits have been producing the most consistent action when worked through vegetation and along wind-affected areas. Early in the morning, walk-the-dog style topwater baits have provided an additional opportunity before transitioning to subsurface presentations. Focusing on wind-blown stretches and thoroughly working productive areas has been key to generating consistent bites.

Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – Post-Spawn Flats & Bridge Shad Spawn Bite (April 18, 2026)

Lady Bird Lake is at a normal level with clear water offering roughly 4–6 feet of visibility and water temperatures around 69 degrees. Bass are positioned shallow, primarily relating to flats with submerged vegetation. Most fish appear to be in a post-spawn phase, with very few bass still being found on beds.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms have been producing the most consistent action when fished on and around these shallow flats. Early in the morning, a shad spawn around the bridges has been providing an additional opportunity, with bass actively feeding on shad near the surface. During this window, topwater lures, small paddle-tail swimbaits, mid-strolling minnow-style soft plastics, and drop-shot rigs have all been effective. Focusing on these feeding windows early and then transitioning to slower presentations around vegetation has been key to consistent success.
