Inks Lake is offering stained water with 2–4 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 75 degrees, and a water level approximately 1 foot below full pool. The best fishing has been around rocky areas in 4–8 feet of water, particularly where higher concentrations of baitfish are present.

Drop-shot rigged finesse worms and urchin style baits have been producing well around these rocky areas. Locating concentrations of baitfish has been the key to finding active bass. Overall, the fishing has been good.

Lake Travis Fishing Report – Shallow Topwater Toad Bite Producing Quality Bass (September 22, 2026)

Lake Travis is offering clear water with around 4 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 84 degrees, and a water level approximately 6 feet below full pool. The best opportunity for quality bass has been throwing topwater toads around shallow flooded brush and grass on flats in less than 3 feet of water.

The Bass Pro Shops Humpin’ Toad has been producing well for this pattern, especially in areas with slightly more stained water. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms are also catching numbers around bluff ends in 5–20 feet of water. Overall, the fishing has been fair.

Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – Bass Shifting Back to Submerged Grass (September 7, 2026)

Lady Bird Lake is offering stained water with 3–4 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 80 degrees, and a water level at normal pool. The best fishing has shifted back toward submerged vegetation in 5–10 feet of water.

Urchin style baits fished in and around the vegetation have been producing the best action, with drop-shot rigged finesse worms also catching fish in the same areas. The nomadic offshore schools that were producing throughout the summer have been less prevalent recently.

Inks Lake is offering water temperatures around 83 degrees, with clarity varying from 2–5 feet and a water level approximately 0.75 feet below full pool. Urchin style baits and drop-shot rigged finesse worms have been producing around shallow cover.

Offshore schools of bass chasing large gizzard shad are also providing opportunities for quality fish. Large swimbaits and big topwater baits have been the most effective presentations when targeting these feeding schools.

Lake Waco Fishing Report – Big Bass Feeding on Gizzard Shad (August 22, 2026)

Lake Waco is offering stained water with 2–4 feet of visibility, water temperatures around 85 degrees, and a water level approximately 2 feet below full pool. The best opportunity for larger bass has been on main-lake flats where fish are feeding on schools of gizzard shad.

Large topwater baits have been producing the best bites around these feeding fish. Drop-shot rigged finesse worms are also producing around wood cover in 10–15 feet of water.
