Lady Bird Lake is at a normal level with clear water offering roughly 4–6 feet of visibility and water temperatures around 68 degrees. Bass are positioned shallow, generally less than 15 feet deep, and relating to submerged vegetation in and around spawning areas. While some fish are still actively spawning and can be caught off beds, many are simply holding in these same areas, creating small zones where fish are concentrated.
Texas-rigged stick worms have been producing the most consistent action when worked through submerged vegetation. The key has been covering water until a fish is located, then slowing down and thoroughly working that area to pick off additional bites. Time of day has not played a major role, though the bite has been slightly better during the afternoon hours compared to early morning periods.
